ABOUT SUKHOTHAI
In the 13th century, the kingdom of Sukhothai had its greatest expan- sion. The Sukhothai Historical Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that covers an area of approximately 70 km2 and contains nearly 200 ruins, some of which are restored.
Wat Maha That is the most important temple. At Wat Si Chum, there is an impressive giant Buddha statue that is 11 meters wide and 15 meters high.
I like that the Sukhothai ruins lay in a green area with many trees and a few small ponds. I visited Sukhothai in 1994, 2017, and 2022.
